Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. We require a $50 non-refundable deposit to secure your event date and time. Payment can be made via Venmo, online payment link, or by providing your card over the phone.
If you have a 4 to 6 ft. table available, we would love to use it. If not, we’ll gladly provide our own. We also provide a makeup chair for your guests to sit in while being painted. We ask that you place us in a shaded/covered area. Good lighting is always appreciated.
We can paint an average of 10-15 faces an hour depending upon the complexity of the designs chosen. More time allows us to paint more elaborate designs. We are happy to discuss smaller design choices to accommodate more people within your time frame.
We use the highest quality professional products. These products include FDA-compliant face paints and cosmetic glitters from brands such as Wolfe FX, Fab, Global, Cameleon, Pro Air and Kryolan. Our professional theatrical makeup is water based, hypoallergenic, nontoxic and dries to a powder in less than 5 minutes. Water resistant makeup is also available.
Unlike regular makeup, which is designed to be used by a single person, face paint is designed to be used by multiple individuals, therefore it has just enough antibacterial ingredients to make it safe to be used on many clients. Our paints, brushes and sponges are also sanitized after every event. We use baby wipes to wipe all paints clean, brushes and sponges are washed and dipped in alcohol solution. We follow strict hygiene practices to ensure the safest painting experience for you and your guests.
Removing the paint is very simple, since the paints are water based. Just use a baby wipe or wet paper towel/washcloth and wipe it off. Most of the paint will be removed just like that. If any of the paint is still left behind, just use hand, face or baby wash with warm water on a washcloth and wipe again. Some dark paints may leave mild stains with certain skin types and colors but will usually come off after a second wash. At this point, if any stubborn stains are still left behind you can use baby oil to remove it. Applying moisturizing lotion and letting it sit for 30 minutes or so can also do the trick.
Absolutely! If you provide us with your theme or logo a few days before your event, we are happy to tailor our services to your needs.
We’re based in Sonoma County, but also serve Napa, Marin, Alameda, and Contra Costa counties. For locations outside these areas, we may still be able to accommodate you for an additional travel fee, depending on distance and availability.
We do not have a minimum age for our services. We do require parental consent for any children under 2 since they have very delicate skin and can be sensitive to face paints. Henna tattoos (10 to 20 minutes dry time) and Jagua tattoos (20 to 45 minutes dry time) may not be the best choice for really young children as they smear easily if not fully dry.
Gratuity is not included in your total fee. For satisfactory service a 10-20% gratuity is customary and appreciated for artists.
